Natural Lifespan Meditation Hut Concept

An early concept for a Latvian Meditation Hut design. The hut is designed to embrace several stages of its lifespan as each feature wheres out. A tree-like machined-wood roof engages a rammed earth base that provides multiple angles of repose as it spirals away from the main column. The roof collects water while providing the structure for a simple, tent-like skin. The skin wood and carbonate skin will deteriorate and be removed when it begins to give, followed by the solid wood roof far in the future, leaving a sinuous earth sculpture that will still provide seating and a platform to view the surrounding old-growth forest, until the solid base eventually erodes away.
